The book of John says “The Word gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.”
This music collection was inspired by these verses and examines the human condition of being drawn toward the things of this world, and the hopes and promises of a loving God. It’s about our journey from unknowing to knowing, from loneliness to acceptance, from guilt to love, from extreme dark to extreme light.
There’s a desire in each of us that nothing else can satisfy, and the dark has no hold on it. So, why do we resist? The truth is, the transforming of our life – that series of choices we make over a lifetime – requires an extreme approach and a purposeful direction. Deep down we know that when it really matters – when we can no longer afford to sit on the fence – it comes down to extreme surrender. This music attempts to express the struggles we face from a life of self-reliance and distrust, to one of full surrender.
